A Brief History of the PPAS & A Statement of Its Purpose
This document provides a brief description of the Power Pioneers Association of Saskatchewan Inc. Please review this information and consider joining the only legally incorporated organization representing the interests of members of the Power Corporation Superannuation Plan.
The Power Pioneers Association of Saskatchewan (PPAS) was formed after meetings held in September/October 1996 at Regina and Saskatoon. Members, particularly retirees of SaskEnergy, SaskPower & TransGas, under the Power Corporation Superannuation Plan (PCSP), joined together collectively to achieve improvements to the plan that individual plan members were unable to achieve on their own. Members of the PCSP wanted an official voice to represent their interests in their pension plan. In excess of 1100 PCSP plan members have joined PPAS.
- We represent superannuates, active members and spouses who are members of the Power Corporation Superannuation Plan The PPAS invites anyone who is a member of the PCSP to join.
- The purpose or objectives of PPAS are:
-
- To promote the interests of the membership to receive the best possible benefits from the Power Corporation Superannuation Plan.
- To provide such programs that will assist the membership in their health and well-being.
- To provide a forum for the discussion and distribution of information in matters of interest to the members of the Association.
